David A. Weiland, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Weiland earned his medical degree and completed his internship and residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. He is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and Internal Medicine. Dr. Weiland's professional experience includes more than ten years as a medical educator. He was formerly an Assistant Director of the Family Practice Residency program at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. Dr Weiland authors numerous published articles and delivers a variety of CME presentations.
Richard M. Orlan, MD
Associate Medical Director
Dr. Orlan earned his medical degree at Ross University in the British West Indies. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York where he served as a Chief Resident, and later completed a Fellowship in Nephrology at Mount Sinai. He is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Geriatrics, and Internal Medicine. Dr. Orlan was recently in private practice at The Comprehensive Geriatric Care Centers in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Susan M. Wehr, MD
Associate Medical Director
Dr. Wehr earned her medical degree and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami School of Medicine. Dr. Wehr is board certified in Internal Medicine. She brings with her experience as an assistant professor of Clinical Medicine, and Medical Director of a local clinic.
Theresa A. Buck, MD, FCCP
Associate Medical Director
Associate Medical Director Dr. Buck earned her medical degree at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, graduating with her MD in 1992. Dr. Buck is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Internal Medicine with subspecialties in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
William Moore, MD
Associate Medical Director
Dr. Moore earned his medical degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, PA. He is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and Family Medicine, and is certified by the American Board of Quality Assurance & Utilization Review. Dr Moore is Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at University of South Florida Medical School. Formerly, Dr Moore served on the Board of the Florida Academy of Family Medicine & Board of Governors of the Pinellas County Medical Society.
Donald Simmler, MD
Associate Medical Director
Dr. Simmler earned his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at the University of South Florida. He is board certified in Internal Medicine with a subspecialty in Pulmonary Medicine, and is a member of the Alpha Omega Medical Honor Society. Dr. Simmler spent 26 years in private practice specializing in Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine prior to joining The Hospice in 2006.
